Intense Pulsed Light
Have you noticed several new dark spots on your face, hands, or maybe your neck? Has your skin become darkened over the years or discolored in specific areas, with unwanted hair? Do you notice small red marks (broken capillaries) on your cheeks or around the creases of your nose?
If you’re experiencing an unwanted skin condition similar to the one’s listed above, our professionals are available to suggest the best treatment option for you!
Intense pulsed Light (IPL) also known as, a Fotofacial is a non-invasive treatment that emits a broadband beam of light through a small crystal onto the skin. Our Sandstone Apollo Mini IPL is a secret weapon for reversing pigmentation problems, unwanted hair, active acne or the tone of someone’s skin on any part of the body. The signs of aging can be treated easily by our IPL machine and safely by our laser technicians.
IPL can improve and treat the following skin conditions:
- Sun spots and/or hyperpigmentation,
- Rosacea and/or brown and red patches
- Active acne
- Vascular Lesions (small blood vessels) and broken capillaries (telangiectasia)
- Pigmented Lesions (freckles, liver spots and birthmarks)
Pigmented and Vascular Lesions
Our IPL machine uses a unique combination of radiofrequency and light to isolate the treatment area and leave the surrounding skin free from potentially harmful side effects. Using gentle pulses of two targeted energies means better results with lower overall energy output, assuring the highest level of safety and comfort. The laser is attracted to the hyperpigmentation on the skin and draws it towards the surface, eventually flaking off. When treating redness the laser setting is attracted to the hemoglobin and heats up the tiny vessels until they collapse and the blood retreats. This provides a clearer, smoother complexion, which smooth’s out your skin tone.
IPL treatments help diminish the dark shadows of hyperpigmentation and create a younger looking complexion. If you have signs of red areas with broken capillaries on any area of the face the IPL machine will improve those areas and help with your complexion as well.
Some of us have shadows that develop over the years due to shaving, IPL treatments help to fade the dark shadows and reduce the hair growth on all areas of the body. The light targets the pigment in the hairs and damages the hair root. The damage done to the hair root prevents the hair to reproduce and grow again, but only during the active growth stage of the hair. A series of treatments are needed for best results and following each treatment the hair will become sparser.
Redness and irritation could be associated with the treatment. We place a sunscreen on the treated area before leaving the treatment room. We also sell product by Image that has a great sunscreen and moisturizer in one.
During the treatment it will be normal to feel some discomfort especially, on the sensitive areas. The crystal has a chilled tip to help cool the skin before and after the light beam is fired. You will feel some heat after the beam of light is absorbed into your skin, but it will only last for a split second. It feels similar to a small rubber band snapping your skin; the thin areas on the body are more sensitive and tend to feel more of the effects from the machine.
The Benefits are Great!
For maximum results we recommend a series of 6 treatments 4 to 6 weeks apart, with each session lasting 30 minutes per area.
